Participants of the festival “Mater Terra” (lat. “Mother Earth”) are presenting plays based on themes: “Ecology” and “Ecology of the soul”.
The Festival is imagined like a place of exchange, presenting works of drama sections and groups providing the possibility of expert advice for all those teachers, professors, artists, and drama pedagogues who believe, like we do, that drama processes and theatre itself can positively influence personal development and also the development of our society and on the world we live in.
The Festival is uncompetitive our concept is that it serves like a place for support and development of drama groups and studios. On the main day of the festival, after each block of performances there are polylogues in a circle in which young participants, their teachers and drama pedagogues, audience, parents, together with the team of experts, exchange their opinions about plays, give some comments and talk openly about processes and problems
The leader of each drama group receives a written evaluation from the expert team, which is a guideline for their further work.
All the participants of the Festival receive the “Ecology Star”, acknowledgment for spreading messages of nobility and ecology through theatre expression, and “Ecology Guidepost” is given to the organizations and individuals who enabled the development of the Festival with their contribution.
The Festival is nomadic in form, i.e. every year a different Belgrade or Serbian Municipality should host the participants of the festival in their Cultural Centre and schools. Thus a wide area of participants and community will be involved.

NOVI Magazin – article about the festival (srb)
“ Ecology of the soul ” is a new concept which implies healthy and developed interpersonal relations, openness and accepting the other and different, the development of empathy and activation of solidarity and support. We insist on non-competitiveness of the Festival, because we try to establish new relations and little island of a different and more righteous value system that children and young people should encounter, and accept that as an alternative to the current prevailing system of competition, consumerism, apathy and indifference for other or others, for our nature and Planet in general.
